This is one of the things I saw:
Details and more photos to come…
BTW, look at those colors!
This photo is straight out of the camera with no editing. It’s one of my favorites from last week.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

I’ve been thinking about how my actions and words directly effect those around me and how others effect my attitude and mood, even when I don’t realize what’s happened. It’s amazing, really, how a smile or kind word can turn the day around. It seems that negative words, looks, and actions can be even more powerful.
I’d like to be remembered as someone who brought light and the love to those around me every day. Wouldn’t you?
as 2010 ends
Posted: December 30, 2010 Filed under: journal 1 Comment »and 2011 is about to begin, I have thought a lot about this blog and what I want to do with it. I posted less in 2010 than any year before since I started blogging. Many reasons come to mind… a bit of burn-out, raising three teenagers and owning two computers (computer time for me is scarce sometimes), and that I don’t really like posting from my phone.
My blogging goal this year is to be more consistent.
I’m looking forward to 2011. It’s going to be a great year!
at the lake

This is my oldest daughter. She’s a high school senior this year. Isn’t she beautiful?
She thinks I only say that because I’m her mom, but that’s not it. She’s a truly lovely person inside and out. She’s willing to stand up for what she believes in and is compassionate toward others. I’m honored to have been part of her becoming who she’s growing up to be.
on this day in history

Their discovery helped save the life of my youngest daughter. Instead of a death sentence with the diagnosis of type I diabetes in December 2006, she is able to live a normal life (if you don’t count the constant blood sugar testing, ketone testing, and insulin injections).
I’m sure Smokey is thankful for that. How else would a Chihuahua get to wear a pig nose and have his photo taken for FaceBook?
